Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)

(Two components: 1 self-paced online + 1 online Zoom/Teams on 28-Oct-2024 - 9am to 5pm)

Course Description

First aid skills to support young people with mental health problems or mental health crisis.

The course is divided into two parts that will take place on two different days. The first part is an online component (7 hours) which needs to be done beforehand the second component, while the second component is an online Zoom/Teams session on 28-Oct-2024 (7 hours).


Course Overview

Learn how to assist adolescents experiencing mental health problems or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.  This training will give you an evidence-based Action Plan to follow which is based on guidelines developed by professionals and people with lived experience.

You will also receive a Youth Mental Health Training Manual which provides useful information post training.  To become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider, complete the online assessment after the course.
