Position Summary

To support the delivery of quality values-based seminars, workshops, and programs to school students across South Australia. Help facilitate a safe, and inclusive space for students to learn and develop healthy social and emotional skillsets and overall wellbeing. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver professional, high-quality seminars and workshops
• In line with SMG standards and guidelines, present Christian and Values-based seminars, workshops, and performances within educational/care settings
• Assist in the preparation, set up and packing away of equipment and props
• Work collaboratively as a team member with all Presenters, Education Manager, Seminar Team Leader, Performance Coordinator and Wellbeing Team
• Travel may be required to regional areas in South Australia

2. Assist in the continuous improvement of Christian Options and values-based seminars and workshops
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of seminars, workshops, and performances
 Help facilitate the evaluation process by requesting feedback from stakeholders
 Participate in event evaluation and debrief activities
 Assist in the update of content and materials

3. Contribute to media and social media content
• Assist with social media content creation, including videoing, photography and media posting when required
• Assist in media creation and editing for promotions, documenting team activities, and content

4. Promote the wider ministry of Schools Ministry Group
• Create opportunities at events and through school contacts, School Chaplains, Churches, and other stakeholders to share the various ministries of SMG from which they could benefit



Person Specification

Personal Faith

Applicants must have:

A personal commitment to Christian faith and values. Applicants must be able to give adherence to the beliefs held in common by supporting churches, as stated in the Nicene Creed
• An active and regular involvement in a Christian community


Qualifications
•Relevant qualifications/education of performing arts (desirable)
•Qualifications in Youth Work or Children’s Services (desirable)


Experience

• Public Speaking
• Working within a school environment (desirable)
• Working with children and young people
• Generating ideas which demonstrate creativity, flair and an adventurous approach to ministry
• Teamwork
• Working with audio visual equipment (desirable)
• Working in or around the performing arts industry, or have had some exposure to industry practices

• Relate, communicate and work effectively with children and young people
• Deliver and facilitate presentations to large groups of people of varying ages, cultures, and beliefs

Knowledge
Essential
• Current issues relevant to young people, and an understanding of child and youth culture
• The wider Christian Church and community groups across the state

Desirable
• Educational practice, schools, and the Department for Education
• Apple Mac computing environments
