A practical training equipping Pastoral Care Workers in their conversations with students.

Course Overview

This training explores the importance of good connection and communication within the everyday conversations that happen with students.  Unpacking the C.L.A.S.S.I.C. Model of intervention, Pastoral Care Workers will be equipped and encouraged to have pastoral conversations that support and add value to the lives of the students they interact with.  The importance of self-care, professional boundaries, and referrals is highlighted and practical strategies are given to help support students and foster safe, supportive environments that promote healing, wellbeing, and connection.

Jacob Mangelsdorf

I’m Jacob Mangelsdorf, I am a former employee (within a training and educator role) and friend of SMG.  I have been a professional counsellor since 2008 and clinically registered with PACFA specialising in grief and trauma. I support families, couples, children, and young people, I also have experience working with people who struggle with mental health and addiction barriers.   Throughout my professional career I have developed various training and information sessions with a practical and useful focus.
