Meet the instructor

Phylis Kamatei

Hi, I am Phylis Kamatei, a Wellbeing Trainer and a Pastoral Care Worker at Mylor Primary School. My background in Social Work has provided me with valuable experience in high-crisis intervention settings, particularly in homelessness, as well as in disability and youth work. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a profound understanding of the complexities surrounding challenging behaviours and has also informed my approach.
In my role at Mylor Primary School, I draw on my hands-on experience with students, as well as my previous work in residential care, to inform my approach. My goal is to build upon the excellent work you are already doing in your schools by providing you with additional tools and strategies to effectively respond to challenging behaviours. Together, we can enhance the wellbeing of our students and promote their growth and resilience. I am excited to collaborate with you and share insights that will empower us all in our vital roles.
